NC Aquarium at Fort Fisher will close in early 2026 for a multi-year renovation and expansion project that will add a state-of-the-art education center with direct pathways to outdoor learning, an interactive touch pool with sharks and rays, and the largest shark habitat in North Carolina. During the renovations, we will host special member events, share behind-the-scenes updates, offer a pop-up gift shop, and keep you connected.
This transformative project is truly cause to celebrate, and your membership benefits will remain unchanged throughout the renovation. Your membership provides year-round access to the NC Aquariums at Pine Knoll Shores and on Roanoke Island, walk-on access to Jennette’s Pier in Nags Head, free admission to the NC Zoo in Asheboro, and discounted admission to more than 150 AZA-affiliated zoos and aquariums nationwide.
