Visitors to Jennette’s Pier have plenty of opportunities to catch fish, sightsee and learn about ocean environments.

The facility and grounds feature many components designed to assist people with limited mobility. Shiny, tubular, aluminum handrails make walking up the gradual entry ramp a breeze.

At the top, the first entry door is automated to open with the touch of a button. Once inside, all restrooms have wide, required handicap-accessible stalls.

An elevator provides people with an easy way to reach the second floor, where fantastic ocean views complement wedding reception parties.

Out on the Pier, the wide span makes it easier to maneuver with a walker or wheelchair. Near the end, there are two prime fishing locations with lowered handrails to assist wheelchair-seated anglers.

Another neat service includes free golf cart rides from the parking lot. Patrons can call our security staff to request a ride from the parking lot. Just call 252-255-1501, ext. 214.

The amenities available extend to our public beach access. For most of the year, a royal blue Mobi-mat is deployed across the sand from an accessible ramp on the south end of Pier’s bath house.

And finally, there’s a beach wheelchair with ballooned tires that we loan out for those who want to explore the strand sand.
