FUN WITH FOOD
‘Tis the season when many start thinking about holiday gatherings and who can eat what during get-togethers. We’re always thinking about food at the Aquarium. Did you know husbandry staff prepares roughly 50 to 60 pounds of food every day for our fish, reptiles and otters? Different animals eat different things. Sea jellies and sea horses eat brine shrimp. Otters eat fish and veggies. Birds, like the bald eagles and the owls, eat mice. Sea turtles eat shrimp, clams and a special nutrient-rich food we make in-house.
