Who’s Your Favorite?

It's Marsh Madness at the NC Aquarium at Pine Knoll Shores, and we want to know who the Animal Champion is! Each week, two animals will go paw-to-claw or fin-to-flipper to see who comes out on top! Vote for your favorite each week on social media. During the final week, we'll have lightning rounds where the winners will go against each other until the champion is announced on March 31. Get Hooked

The annual Get Hooked Fishing Workshop is March 16! The popular one-day course features in-depth presentations by experienced charter captains on many aspects of the sport. It offers an opportunity to gather a lot of information in one place, and includes six sessions of instruction, a catered lunch, giveaways and drawings for some great fishing gear.

Swamp and Savannah

Moving from the marsh to the swamp, the Aquarium’s Spadefish Art Gallery features a new exhibition of photography and poetry by Melissa Dowland, a naturalist educator at the NC Museum of Natural Sciences.

The exhibit, Savannah & Swamp, features Dowland’s photography of many beautiful places across the state and beyond. The images capture the grandeur of nature and majesty of the minute found in stunning settings, including Merchants Millpond, Jones Lake, Lake Waccamaw, National Wildlife Refuges and National Forests.
