Summer 2024 State of NC Internship Programs:

Governed by the NC Department of Administration’s Council for Women and Youth Involvement, the annual North Carolina Internship Program offers a 10-week, paid internship for state residents attending college who are interested in careers in state government. Internship applicants must be a permanent North Carolina resident attending a college, university, law school, community college or technical institute in North Carolina or a North Carolina resident attending an equivalent institution out of state. Opportunities include animal husbandry, marine education or special activities programs.

Summer 2024 HBCU & MIHE Internship Programs:

The Historically Black Colleges/Universities (HBCU) & Minority Institutions of Higher Education (MIHE) Internship is a paid, 10-week program designed to expose, engage and educate students by giving them tangible, real-world experience with various divisions within the department. We have partnered with North Carolina’s HBCUs and MIHEs to provide this opportunity to rising Juniors, Seniors and Graduate Students. Interns work 40 hours per week for 10 weeks in the summer. Essential components of the program include professional development, leadership training and networking opportunities. The Aquarium is offering a special activities internship.
