Greener holidays ahead 

The holidays are filled with food, family, lights, and gifts. It can also be filled with food scraps, gift returns, and wrapping paper - lots of wrapping paper. About 2.3 million pounds of wrapping paper ends up in the landfill each year.

Experiences 

  • Spending time with loved ones can be such a meaningful gift. Take a trip or even cook a meal together. See if you can make a meal without using plastic!
  •  Enjoy activities, crafts, sweet treats, and a photo with Santa at the Aquarium during our Santa by the Sea event on Saturday, December 9.
  •  Winter and Sea Turtle Camps are great ways to have fun while learning. Perfect for animal lovers in grades 2-6.

ECO Swaps

Give your loved ones plastic-free or up-cycled gifts! Portable bamboo utensils, toys made from recycled plastic or a handmade card. Be creative or check out our Gift Shop for more ideas!

Holiday hours

The Aquarium will close early at 1 p.m. Dec. 24, and will be closed all day Dec. 25. Otherwise, the Aquarium will be open 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. - including New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day
