On the frontlines of conservation in rugged, rain-forested Costa Rica, 14 educators embarked on an Ecological Edventure (EcoEd) with North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher education team members Gail Lemiec and Casey Radley. EcoEdventurers selected for this summer 2023 trip represented high school science teachers, 4-H club leaders, naturalist guides and other environmental educators from throughout the United States.
Hosted yearly by the NC Aquariums and supported by the North Carolina Aquarium Society, EcoEd offers immersive field courses for formal and non-formal educators who gain professional development and first-hand conservation knowledge and experience saving species.
