May 2021

In the decade following Jennette’s rebirth in 2011, nearly 1.75 million happy people have visited this unique oceanfront pier located in the heart of Whalebone Junction, Nags Head.

On Friday, May 21, we reach a milestone – our 10th anniversary. Although due to the pandemic no festivities are planned, we are pleased with our varied accomplishments.

Jennette’s provides an ideal platform for world-class fishing and superb sightseeing for vacationing families. Our staff has educated right around 100,000 North Carolina school students who arrive here by the busload.

More than 500 couples have celebrated their wedding days with receptions in Oceanview Hall, where a covered veranda salutes salty sea breezes and frames picturesque vistas of the mighty Atlantic.

So, what is next for us? Watch as Jennette’s Pier emerges as a leading location for ocean research. A recent example: last month’s successful deployment and recovery of a test article for the Waves to Water prize competition scheduled for April 2022.

The month of May also marks the start of our summer-season hours of operation – 6 a.m. to midnight. Fishing picks up this time of year, and soon beachgoers will dot the strand.

Be sure to make your plans soon to visit Jennette's Pier ... where Fishin' is Catchin.'
