Fall fishing continues to produce great fun for all skill levels. Anglers can try their luck at landing a massive red drum off the end, or a feisty puppy drum in the surf zone.
Also biting in November can be bluefish, spot, speckled trout, sea mullet and more. Be sure to check our daily Fishing Report to keep up with the catches and ever-changing ocean conditions.
Residents and visitors alike can swing by Jennette’s Pier on Wednesday, Nov. 4, from 9 a.m. to noon for our inaugural Drive-Thru to Fight the Flu, sponsored by Outer Banks Hospital. Preregister online, then simply come by, get your free shot at the southwest corner of our parking lot, and go — you never have to leave your car!
Speaking of being on the go, our educator Meredith Fish has emerged as a smooth online teacher through a series of videos on YouTube. From examining Eastern oyster shells found on the northern beaches to exploring wind energy here at Jennette’s Pier, she has reached thousands of students with her video lessons.
While preparing for your Thanksgiving holiday on Thursday, Nov. 26, make plans to visit the Pier that day. From 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. all fishing and walk-on fees will be waived. It’s our way of saying THANKS!
