Have you ever left Jennette’s Pier, gone home and then realized, “Hey, I forgot to get a T-shirt from the Pier Shop!” Now, select items can be purchased online!
Tees, hats, plush animals and housewares are all available. It’s a convenient way to buy our gear from home — including gifts for that special angler’s birthday.
Here’s a new feature getting a lot of looks: Free books at Jennette’s Pier’s all-new Little Free Library. Super summer beach reads abound — both paperback and hardbound novels, how-to books, and perhaps even children’s stories.
Ocean-pier fishing has produced recent catches of blues, croaker and spot, along with some hard-fighting sheepshead, speedy Spanish mackerel, slick sea mullet and even a feisty puppy drum or two.
Large cobia and king mackerel top the list. These are mostly caught by using a two-rod system known as pin-rig fishing. Anglers using this method sometimes wait all day for the strike, but when it comes, it’s big-time!
This August, enroll your children in outdoor experiences they’ll never forget! Our education department offers three-hour-long morning camps Tuesdays through Thursdays till mid-month. Go fishing, crabbing, and stand-up paddleboarding on the soundside, or dissect a squid!
Be there, aloha!
