July 2020

Our members are hugely important to our mission and our future! We are so grateful for everyone who has invested in us and become an NC Aquariums member. Rest assured, all North Carolina Aquarium Society memberships will be extended for a period equal to the length of time that the aquariums are closed. This extension will be applied automatically and requires no action on your part.

Our first adventure into virtual camps has brought a huge response — SO huge that we are adding new camps for July and August for rising K through rising Second grade children. Adventure Up the Coast camps allow registered campers to travel along the North Carolina coast to all four North Carolina Aquarium sites from the comfort of their homes.

We are thankful for everyone’s patience while we wait for news about an opening date. In accordance with Governor Roy Cooper’s Executive Order #147 extending the Phase 2 order, the earliest the NC Aquariums will be able to open to the public is mid-July. Please continue to check social media and our website for current COVID-19 information.

While you’re near, see the Pier! Even though you can’t visit the NC Aquarium on Roanoke Island just yet, you can check out our sister facility, Jennette’s Pier, in Nags Head. Fish, sightsee, or just take a stroll along the longest public pier in North Carolina.
