Celebrate Independence Day by taking a kid fishing. North Carolina waives all license requirements on July 4th so you can spend quality time outdoors with your family.
And remember, at Jennette’s Pier a fishing license is never required. Our Blanket Saltwater Fishing License covers every guest, so when you buy your ocean-pier fishing pass, you’re good to go.
In general, piers provide equal opportunities for all levels of anglers, and bottom fishing is fun and easy. Waiting and ready to strike are bluefish, spot and croaker, which count among summer anglers’ favorite catches.
With 2,000 linear feet of fishing space, social distancing between family groups is easy. Our Pier Shop is open for shopping, and quality rod-and-reel fishing combos are available to rent for $10 a day. Make sure to bring your cloth face covering to wear inside the pier house.
Looking for activities for the kids? Our Day Camps run from 9 a.m. to noon Tuesday through Thursday in July and August. Catch a crab during Tuesday Soundside Explorers. (Watch out — you may get pinched!) Wednesday sessions focus on Pier Fishing, and on Thursdays we dive into science with our famous Ocean Explorers camp.
So this July, be sure to come by and check out Jennette’s Pier … where FISHIN’ is CATCHIN’!
