June 2019

Plastics have become a reality, with more than 300 million tons of plastic being produced every year and more than 8 million tons dumped in our oceans. It is an inexpensive, versatile product that can be used and thrown away, with more than 50 percent being used only once. Join us for World Oceans Day, June 8, to learn how you can “prevent plastic pollution and encourage solutions for a healthy ocean.”

Want a date night without the kids? Check out our summer Kids Night Out program. The evening program provides kids a special night at the Aquarium. Dinner, crafts, programs and activities included.

A Bird’s-Eye View opens for its 10th season with an all-new show. The show highlights the unique features of various owls, hawks, vultures, pelicans and other species that can be found across North Carolina. A Bird’s-Eye View is offered daily at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. Donations from this event will go to the Association of Zoos and Aquariums conservation efforts. You can change their world.
