March brings the unofficial start of spring, and Pier staff has been working hard to get everything ready — both inside and out on the grounds as well.
Perhaps the biggest change visitors will see is the all-new Pier Shop. The old space was gutted and remodeled over the past two months and will now serve customers better than ever, with more tackle and better access to food and drinks.
Just across from the Pier Shop, a brand new exhibit about bottlenose dolphins will be officially unveiled on Sunday, March 24, at 2 p.m. Come and learn all about "Moe," whose re-articulated skeleton hangs overhead.
Our education department is in full swing this month as they’re expecting 20 school groups with a total of 1,830 students! The children will enjoy such programs as Wonders of Wind, Solar Boats or Cars, and Basic Fishing. In addition, summer camps registration opens Monday, March 4, at 9 a.m.
In Oceanview Hall, a half-dozen facility rentals are set and ready to go. They include an evening with wedding professionals from The Knot on Tuesday, March 5, from 6 to 9 p.m. Expert Audrey Groves of this international wedding planning service will discuss targeting clients and how to "close the sale."
