Happy Trails and More

Summer takes flight soon, leaving a frenzy of activity at the Aquarium.

Lorikeets launched loads of laughter all summer. The free-flying beauties head south at the month’s end. Hand feeding these colorful birds creates memories that last long after summer days disappear. Don’t miss the opportunity.

Aquariums are turning the tide on plastic in our oceans, lakes and rivers. As a proud member of the Aquarium Conservation Partnership we’re working toward long-term solutions. Learn more about how and why the answer is #InOurHands.

Hit the trail to celebrate nature play. Aquarium educators lead a Family Nature Club Hike at Carolina Beach State Park, perfect for those with children 10 years old and younger. Free-play activities and a picnic lunch are included. Preregistration required for the Sept. 30 program.

The Aquarium also hosts Deaf Awareness Day on Sept. 30. Individuals who are deaf or hearing impaired discover an enhanced Aquarium experience. Sign language, captioning and interpreters will augment animal feedings and programs.

Kind of spooky how time flies. We’re making plans for Trick or Treat Under the Sea, Oct. 26-28. Mark your calendar. Tickets go on sale in mid-September. Businesses and organizations interested in reaching thousands of families should reserve a booth for the popular event soon.
