Jennette’s Pier and all three N.C. Aquariums have joined 19 other aquariums across the country in a drive to shift away from single-use plastic products and packaging.
Our Pier Green Team continues to reduce staff reliance on single-use plastics, to recycle more waste, and to step up efforts to keep the beaches, dunes and parking lot litter-free during these active summer months.
In perhaps the Pier's busiest week of the year, the Wave Riding Vehicles Outer Banks Pro surfing contest begins Aug. 30 and runs through Labor Day weekend. Come and cheer for top East Coast surfers as they vie for cash and prizes by ripping the surf on the south side.
Speaking of cheering, Jennette’s facility-rentals staffer and former “Radford Rocker” Kaila Bartee achieved a childhood dream recently when selected for the Carolina Panthers TopCats cheerleading squad. Her debut comes in an NFL pre-season game against the Texans, Aug. 9. (That's her, smiling under the RU hat, above.)
